Health & Safety

Exercise safety is important to avoid injury and maintain good health. Regular exercise is vital for good health and well-being but by not knowing the basic safety techniques this could lead to injury.

Using your Jym

  • Before using Jym you should consider consulting a doctor or physician as to whether Jym is suitable for you and which exercises would benefit you the most.
  • Make sure you have sufficiently warmed up and stretched before using Jym.
  • If you feel any excessive pain while using Jym or if you have any existing health issues which may impact on your workout you should consult a doctor or physician.
  • Only ever exercise at 80% of your maximum ability to avoid injury and strain.
  • Don’t strain yourself as this could cause injury.
  • Don’t apply more than 200kg/440lb to your Jym.
  • Don’t let Jym come in contact with liquid substances.
  • It should be noted that your blood pressure can rise dramatically when performing isometric exercises. If you suffer from hypertension or a heart condition it is advised you check with your doctor first.

Take Care

  • See your doctor for a full medical check-up before beginning any new fitness program and see your doctor for regular medical check-ups.
  • Stop exercising immediately and seek medical advice if you:
  • Feel discomfort or pain
  • Have chest pain or other pain that could indicate a heart attack
  • Experience extreme breathlessness
  • Develop a rapid or irregular heartbeat during exercise
